Nice Virushi. I'd never seen this design before.

thanks! All artists have their own differing takes, some better, some worse depending on viewpoint, I suppose. I went the way I did with this guy as I wanted a more animated image that the larger eyes and face allowed, with some more expression.

The hardest aliens for me were always Hivers and Vargr, I'm a huge fan of the "wilder" vargr that Ben Wooten captures, and hivers have always been a pain for me.

Hivers are damned hard to draw. Fun, but damned hard to draw.

For Vargr I have been taking inspiration from the art for the Gnolls from the Pathfinder RPG. I always thought they should be a bit more savage. I'll need to chekc out Ben Wooten's stuff.

Facinatingly intricate, believable, completely alien.

And can I have permission to try and color it?

Was this an SJG commission?

by all means do! Love to see what you do with it.

It was a job for Quiklinks, actually, for the Gateway book IIRC.As QLI had a habit of not sending me comp copies , I have no clue if it actually got used, but I did a batch of alien stuff for them.

This is a great concept- so much character.

May I take a shot at coloring it as well?

Thanks!

I think I might have over-saturated a bit.
